The Systemic JIA Foundation helped support a conference on Systemic JIA and Interstitial Lung Disease at Stanford last month. Over 70 doctors and researchers attended. It was a great opportunity to bring experts from the worlds of Rheumatology, Pulmonology, and related disciplines like Radiology and Pathology together to share information and perspectives.
Here are two presentations from the conference that had a clinical focus. The first is from Dr. Yukiko Kimura, and looked at the changes that IL-1 and IL-6 blocking drugs have had on SJIA patient outcomes.
The next presentation was from Dr Michal Cidon, and was a review of the symptoms and epidemiology of SJIA.
More slides to come!
The Systemic JIA Foundation is actively looking to support research projects involving SJIA. We have a special interest in: disease modeling of SJIA (animal models or human stem cell models), genetics, human biome, stem cell therapies, and translational research.
